I find it very odd that the gas station changes the price for gas it already has in the tanks. I can understand how when they buy new gas the price might go up- but it seems that once they buy it, it should stay the same until they get new. But that's silly of me. :P It's been rising like crazy here, too. Luckily, I barely drive!

Is that a lot? It hasn't been under $3 (or really $3.50) here in as long as I can remember! I only buy gas every three months but it costs me almost $40 to fill my tiny little gas tank.

Here it went up to around $3 for a while last year and then went down again. So it's not unheard of, but it's still high. I'm just afraid it's going to go even higher. Summer isn't even here yet.

I have a small gas tank, too - but I guess I am getting old and cranky, because it pisses me off every time it costs me nearly $30 to fill it up. Seems like not very long ago it was more like $12.

It's $3.51 for regular at our neighborhood station. They're not the cheapest around, but they're not unusually expensive, either. There's another place near work that I think's around $3.68, but they're always ripoffs; there's no other station within a mile and they're near a freeway ramp. I'm still waiting to see $4.xx, and it can't be far off (for premium, at least) at the ripoff place.

That, alas, is part of the price of living in San Diego.

Well, you California people are making me feel comparatively well-off about the gas, at least! (Intellectually, I knew this, but $2.95 still feels really high to me. I just have to get used to it.)

Another Californian chiming in: at the 76 station where I get gas, the average price has been around the $3.50 mark for the past couple of weeks. I usually fill up when I get to half a tank and that costs me between $30-$35. For half a tank of regular. (I drive a SUV, unfortunately, and have no options for public transport.)

That is at the moderately priced station -- on my drive home from work, I have seen regular as high as $3.91 or low as $3.40 at the cheap station that charges you .45 to use your ATM card.
