mellicious: Quote from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's 1st episode: "The earth is doomed." (GW - black)

I went to Weight Watchers so it must be Wednesday.

(I have nothing to say about WW except that I need to stay away from Pizza Hut.)

Three "Lost" episodes to go. We got to the point where
Ben shoots Locke
right about the time Rob was ready to go to bed last night, and I was so interested I really didn't want to stop. But I did. We would have gotten further, but I made the mistake of reminding Rob that "American Idol" was on. And then there turned out to be a new "House" episode on too. Aren't all the scripted shows supposed to be running out of episodes, already?

Mostly for[personal profile] columbina's benefit: at least two of the guild members who stomped off in a huff last week have already come back. Which made me happy - it got a bit quiet there for a while. (For everybody else: we've had pointless internet drama going on in our GuildWars group. Nobody even seems to know the whole story - I certainly don't - but a good proportion of the guild got mad at the current officers over something-or-other and quit. So silly.)

Linkage:
The syndicated feed[profile] elect_vote_08 has some good commentary on (as you might guess) things electoral. I was especially struck by this, about Giuliani: "The biggest mistake he made was entering the race in the first place. Only someone with an ego the size of the Empire State Building could think that a mayor of New York (which to much of the Republican base is right up there with Sodom and Gomorrah) and who supports abortion, gay rights, and illegal immigrants would think he had a chance in the Republican primary. Add to this his idea of family values (three wives, numerous girlfriends, and two adult children who don't talk to him) and you don't have the ideal Republican candidate. He was leading in the polls most of 2007, but what he didn't realize was that he was merely a placeholder for "None of the above." All the other contenders had major flaws and nobody looked much beyond his (self-proclaimed) hero image. When the race started in earnest, he was left in the dust."

Wal-Mart will have large layoffs in its apparel unit (that's the NY Times so it may require registration) - honestly, all I can say about this is, it's about damn time. During the years when I was terribly broke, I bought a large proportion of my wardrobe at Wal-Mart, and I have not really ever broken the habit of looking around the clothing section when I'm there. And my god, has their selection been awful the last few years. I don' t know who those "more upscale lines" were supposed to be aimed at, but it apparently wasn't me. I haven't bought anything there in ages except maybe a couple of pairs of pants.

Also, 935 Lies

And I keep forgetting to share the necklace I bought on etsy yesterday:

It came from modflo, who has other really cute things in that vein, if you're interested.

Here's a list of a bunch of shows and how many episodes are still left. They update it daily!

Thanks! I had seen a different list like this but it was not so up-to-date!
