My mother took this picture, on Avery Island in Louisiana in the winter of 2004.

So, I have Letters Testamentary, and I pretty much got into a shouting match with the guy at Chase because he tried to tell me that that still didn't give me access to my mom's accounts. (Guess what, he called somebody and had to admit that he was wrong. I was already pretty damn sure of that; I have had a crash course in Texas estate law in the last few months.) However, I am still going to have to go back next week because I didn't have a tax ID. I had some idea the lawyer was supposed to take care of that part! I didn't have much hope that I would be able to get everything done today anyway, it being the Saturday of a holiday weekend and everything. But I got enough done that it wasn't a wasted day, anyway.

I indulged in some retail therapy after my fun time with Chase - I bought fabric. And later a shredder. I almost bought a printer, too, but couldn't decide which one to buy. I am going to have to solicit opinions from TUS or something.
