Oh, lovely that you have family near enough that you can drive over the river and through the woods to visit. My only brother and his family are in Seattle area. Since I'm in FL, a drive is unlikely. He did, however, literally make my Christmas, this year, by surviving open-heart surgery on the 16th, which repaired a congenital heart valve defect. He's been home since the 21st and is recovering splendidly. He asked for breakfast from McDonald's, the other day, so we know he's on the mend. I didn't go out for the surgery, since he'd be hospitalized for several days, and his SO is on winter break, able to be there to care for him. She goes back to work on the 3rd, but he has grown children who will watch over him. All out there in the same area. And here I am 3,000 miles away. I hope to go spend some time with him in mid-January. By then, he'll be climbing walls with cabin fever, since he can't drive for two whole months. If nothing else, I can be the live-in chauffeur for a while. At least I know he's okay. Made for a great holiday!
Sean and I are hanging out enjoying each other's company. We're going back to see Rogue One again on Thursday, in combination with dinner at the local biergarten, which has an actual oom pa pa band meandering around the place on Thursday nights. We're testing out the new Keurig machine, watching videos, cooking, and generally being lazy.
