Okay, I've encountered a problem on your nail blog. It won't let me comment because it doesn't know me. I tried using my LiveJournal ID, but it said somebody called bloggerdotcom wanted to verify my LiveJournal address, as well. I don't know who that is, so I said no, and it wouldn't let me publish my comment. Do you know how I can be identified under OpenID? I use that with another blog I read, but don't know how I was ever added to that list. I'm attaching the comment I wanted to leave over there, so I don't lose it entirely. Cyberspace is wonderful until it's not...
"The Northern Lights one is gorgeous. My favorite color is purple, so I'm drawn to the purple and violet shades. This one has a bit more blue than I prefer, but it really is beautiful.
A few years ago I decided to treat myself better, including a monthly mani/pedi at my favorite salon, with my favorite technician. I feel so pampered and steeped in luxury. Then I discovered gel manicure, and I've never looked back. I do so many hands-on hobbies, such as woodworking and gardening, and my manicures suffered for it. Not anymore. Gel lasts me 3-4 weeks easily. They use predominantly OPI enamels, which suits me fine. It has always stayed on best for me, gel or no. I get the corresponding regular color for my feet and that stays on, as well.
I have a bad habit of chewing on my cuticles, left over from having been a nail-biter until about eighth grade. I find that investing in a good manicure has helped me avoid mutilating my cuticles, except when I'm especially stressed.
