I'm taking myself to see Mary Poppins today. The original is my favorite movie ever. I know every word of every song. They say Emily Blount is a worthy successor to Julie Andrews. We'll see. Sean gave me the BOOK Mary Poppins for Christmas! I wasn't aware it was based upon a book. I'm finding it to be somewhat darker and interestingly different from the first movie. Bert isn't even a chimney sweep! He sells matches and draws chalk pictures on sidewalks when it isn't raining.
I cut fats out of my diet virtually completely early in December. Had a bit of a scare that could have been gall bladder-related, and before I saw my doctor I decided to see if I'd just been overdoing the butter, etc. Dunno if it was ths cause, by the "scare" went away. I have my 3-month checkup tomorrow, when I'll see if all my enzymes are in order. That other thing could have been totally unrelated. Anyway, I'm appalled at the amount of fat I was consuming. I'd never be able to give up bread, but the fats aren't nearly as hard as I anticipated. My nightmare is to find out I'm allergic to chocolate. Oooo, that makes me shudder just to think about it.
Christian Bale was pretty hypocritical at the GGs. Earlier, he had come out with very positive comments about Cheney and what he had learned about him while researching his role. Maybe he said those things to encourage people to see the movie, who had decided not to go see a hatchet job. Once it was playing, his true colors came out. Same with Steve Carell, although I haven't heard anything negative from him. What he said earlier was complimentary and positive about Rummy. Strange bunch, those Hollywood types.
