melliciousI started to put something at the end of the last post about how I'd hopefully have a more cheerful post later, but after the 2-strike 2-out debacle the other night, I had this ridiculous fear of a jinx. And I can quit worrying about that now - and now I'm just in shock. My team is going to the World Series!! Oh. My. God.
Most of you didn't know me back in the days when I was a rabid, rabid baseball fan. I went to about 200 games in five years in the late 90s. I've shook hands with Bagwell. I have a foul ball somewhere with Biggio's autograph on it, along with about half of the team at that time. I have pictures - somewhere - from Fanfests past, of me with Ausmus and Larry Dierker and various other players who are mostly gone from the team now. I have calmed down a bit about it now, and I watch most of the games on TV these days, but this is all by way of saying that I take this very personally. These guys are my friends.
