Beautimus excellencis. It really looks like Tetris. I'm so jealous of your use of variegated thread... I meant to try it, but chickened out. Worried about getting it snarled with all the adjustments it seemed the machine wanted. Isn't freehand stitching fun? I didn't have the white, grippy gloves that some suggest, so horsing around a huge quilt wasn't the easiest thing. I'm going to buy those gloves now that this reminds me.
The border is catchy and nice.
Is this for you or a gift for someone else? Nah, who would deserve it... :)
Oh no, I didn't make this one! Sorry if I gave that impression. I wish I *had* made it, it's really cool. I just always put pictures of things like that over here because this crowd always seems to enjoy them. But anyway, yeah, I do like quilting freehand, a lot. It's one of my favorite parts of the process. (I need to finish putting together the current one so I can do that!) I just started using variegated thread fairly recently, but I really haven't had any problems with it. I've used it on my last several quilts.
(And I haven't gotten around to trying gloves yet, either. I keep meaning to.)
