Not completely a Grinch

I wasn't always all, "Bah, Humbug!" although I know I've sounded like it the last few days. I used to be terribly into Christmas. (I suspect that I'm partly having backlash from years of holiday overload.)

I was nosing around my Flickr pictures again, and here's our tree in 2002:

I had so many ornaments that they didn't even all fit on the tree.

I had a fairly substantial collection of holiday doo-dads, too. I still have some of this stuff.

I had forgotten this picture completely. I don't know what year it was, but that child is 21 now, so it must've been sometime in the mid-to-late 90s!

A few years ago we got an artificial tree that blinks multicolored lights when you plug it in. It's very nice, I like to see it in the window I get home... And it's so, SO much less bother than when we used to decorate a tree! Decorating was sort of fun, but eventually it started to feel like a lot of work.

Yes, I loved decorating the tree, actually, but taking it down again was a pain and a couple of years our tree stayed up wayyyyy too long before I got around to it. I may put a tree up again someday, but right now I'm just taking a couple of years off. (Actually, I think this makes three. Or possibly four, I seem to have lost count.)
