So, non-spoilery: it's really, really good. If you're at all interested in things Marvel you should definitely go see it.
Note that once again I have gone a whole month without seeing a movie - there was just nothing interesting out there. (I skipped Batman v. Superman - did I already say this? - because it sounded dull & depressing and I'm not much of a Superman fan anyway. I might see it eventually.)
Possible spoilers under the jump, though.
The more I think about it, the more I think that the charge that the Avengers are responsible for all those things that happened is total bullshit. I've watched parts of The Avengers and most of The Winter Soldier in the last few days, and I just don't see it. They certainly weren't responsible for the Chitauri attack (I think maybe I'm spelling that right) on NYC. They made a big mess stopping it, yes, but they did stop it. The events of The Winter Soldier, well, SHIELD had been compromised, yes, but that's not the freaking Avengers' fault. I could see blaming Fury, maybe, and other people who could have sniffed it out and didn't. But the helicarriers were intending to rain down destruction on all kinds of people, apparently, so I don't see how you can really fault Captain America & co. for taking them out. The Slakovia thing (again, spelling) in Age of Ultron seems less clear, and I haven't re-watched that so I'm unwilling to just talk out of my ass any more than I already am. Anyway.
But the movie's still really good and (BIG SPOILER) I was surprised there were no major character deaths. I was really expecting somebody to die - Cap or Bucky or Tony, one of them, probably. Anyway, it's going to be interesting to see where this goes.
