Hotel porn

Don't worry, I haven't taken to writing porn. (Well, not in my LJ anyway...) But I'll put this behind a cut for the sensitive, just the same.

We watched porn in the hotel room the other night. I'd never done that before. (I'm too cheap, for one thing - $14.99? You can buy most movies - porn and otherwise - for that much.) I read somewhere that most porn movies only get watched for 15 minutes. Well, sure, you can see why, but we watched all of this one. We wanted our money's worth - although I admit there was a point where I stopped paying too much attention for a while. It was all threesomes, this movie. Each scene had exactly two girls and one guy. I think I would have preferred a little more variety. But still, it was pretty inventive as run-of-the-mill porn goes, in my relatively limited experience.

I am a little bit fascinated by porn, really. But not so much because it turns me on, usually - it's that I can't stop being a critic. Those outfits! (Well, you know, what there is of them.) Those shoes! The shoes, especially, crack me up. Apparently somebody out there thinks high-heeled platforms are incredibly sexy. And then there are the tattoos and the bleached blonde hair and the piercings and the fake tits - although in this particular movie, they all seemed to be real, or at least realistic. None of those unbelievably huge, unbelievably round tits that so many porn movies seem to feature. This one also had fairly decent-looking men. I have this theory that the gorgeous-girls-and-ugly-men style of straight porn is a throwback to the days when women didn't watch porn, or at least didn't admit they did, and so hopefully it's dying out. We'll have to wait and see if time proves me right.

the nostalgia!

That story brings back the memory of times when Tung had our first video player back in 1987, I think and there was the "educational set" from foreign lands that included one action movie, one horror movie and one porn movie (it DID have kind of plot, just that it was in some language none of us understood)that he borrowed from someone and kept showing to his friends.

Oh, the innocent times behind the Iron Curtain. I recall one of Tungs's friends being kind of bemused: "Porn and horror give me a headache ?!"

Dude. I don't know where you're shopping for your porn, but it's going to run you more like $50 to buy anything other than the crappy vintage 70's shit with the feathered hairdos and disco soundtrack. And it'll probably be on Betamax or something.

So I hear, anyway.

No one should buy video porn anyway. That is practically the definition of "rental market."

I told you I'm cheap! I do know that you're right, as far as that the very latest-and-greatest porn costs considerably more than that, but the older stuff can be had for pretty cheap. Without quite going back to the 70s.

Although come to think of it, vintage 70s stuff might be kind of entertaining once. (Or possibly not so much. I saw a few minutes of Deep Throat one time and it was pretty yawn-inducing.)
