Half-forgotten movies

I slept for a while after work, and then read for a good while. I'm about halfway through The English Patient already, which makes me sort of sad because I like it a lot. The only other book of his I've read, Anil's Ghost, was good but it took me a long, long time to read it. It was beautiful and depressing. This book isn't exactly light in tone either, but - I don't know, maybe it's because I've seen the movie and I know more or less how it comes out. ("More or less" because movies can't always be trusted, god knows.) I know all the tragedies already. The only mystery for me is what becomes of Caravaggio, because I don't remember that. Maybe nothing. I only saw the movie once - on video, I think, because I don't remember going to the theater to see it - and there was quite a lot I'd forgotten. It's been coming back to me in bits and pieces.
