I have to think about it for a bit, as my own current reading binge is of no use for suggestions for you.

I remembered a remark someone dropped on LJ and took a tramcar to the railway-station market where I bought half dozen of Russian crime/chicklit books by Tatyana Ustinova (but not the one about what this English language story is written: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/3596835.stm ).

I am amused by her occasional descriptions of big breasted school officials or corpulent (and very competent) violet eyed administrative assistants standing in middle of offices irresolutely "like an iceberg that has decided not to sink the "Titanic""

Anyway, I have to think about English language suggestions.
