melliciousI complain about being bored on vacation but really, it was not an uneventful trip at all. Even while we were in Ohio, we did not just sit around very much. (Unless you count sitting around and watching the NLCS at night, which most of you know does not count as far as I'm concerned!) Here's a brief outline of what we did:
Last Saturday: Flew to Chicago, drove halfway across Indiana on the tollway. (OK, the dinner at Cracker Barrel may not have been too exciting, but the choices in Elkhart, Indiana, are rather limited.)
Sunday: Drove the rest of the way across Indiana, then to Toledo and straight south from there to Rob's hometown. (That route was sort of an experiment; I don't think we'll be doing it again because it seemed to take considerably longer.)
Monday: This was the slowest day but we didn't mind so much. We did go see Rob's Aunt Betty (age 79) and then his brother Jeff. And went out to eat, too.
Tuesday: Shopping in the big town of Lima. Doesn't sound like much but they have a Macy's and other such places that I do like to shop. I spent a fair amount of money.
Wednesday: Aunt Betty took us (and Jeff) out to lunch. Later we went back to Jeff's because his wife wasn't home when we went the first time and we wanted to see her. Stayed there quite a long time.
Thursday: Back to Chicago, driving in the rain, mostly. (This time we cut across country to Fort Wayne, then hit the freeway there.)
Friday: Rob was unenthusiastic about going to the King Tut exhibit at the Field Museum, which was the original plan - and to be quite honest, I wasn't too excited about it myself for some reason - so instead we went to the very exciting Milwaukee. Drove around, went down to the lake, ate lunch, went back to Chicago by the back roads.
Today: Flew home. Collapsed.
(Speaking of collapsing, I should be in bed already.)
